Woodham Academy’s very own ‘Magnificent Seven’ have helped the school achieve its best-ever GCSE results. Seven students achieved A and A* grades in eight or more subjects, despite the introduction of tougher exams this year. Overall, the school recorded the best results in its history, with students of all abilities making excellent progress at Woodham. Headteacher Christine Forsyth said: “The exceptional results achieved by all seven outstanding students mean that they are in a position to go on to study at top universities and achieve even greater things. Their results are due to their hard work and are thoroughly deserved.

“Students of all abilities have made excellent progress during their  time at Woodham Academy and everyone should feel very proud of this year’s results, which are the best ever at our school.” The proportion of students at Woodham achieving a ‘good’ pass is well above the average for the county and progress made at the school by students of all abilities is well above the national average.  Students passing both Maths and English rose by 22 percent on the previous year. The pass rate for both subjects is now above 70 percent.
