Dear Sir,

I would like to give thanks in Newton News to several kind individuals for the help they gave us recently. The first people I’d like to thank are a couple who were driving a black Ford Kuga on Burnhill Way who stopped as my Ford Focus had ground to a halt. The gentleman, who had a top on which said ‘Security’ even went under the bonnet to see if it was a fuel issue and when the car still wouldn’t start, after putting the fuel filter assembly back together, both he and his partner both helped me push my wounded car into The Turbinia car park. The problem was caused by dirty fuel from a local garage which clogged my fuel lines and required the tank and fuel lines to be cleaned out. All is well now.

The second set of people I’d like to thank are a lady with a black Vauxhall Corsa and a member of staff from Lloyds Pharmacy on Pease Way. My wife had taken ill with a really bad migraine. Her type of migraines are called Hemiplegic Migraines which cause full paralysis. My plan was to get my wife to the Pharmacy then run home to get my car, however the lady from the Pharmacy offered to call a taxi and look after us but the lovely lady with the Corsa, from Silkin Way, gave us a lift home. We were humbled to find this remarkable lady has serious health issues herself.

My wife and I are eternally grateful for the outstanding kindness shown by these lovely people. So often, good deeds are done without recognition but I wanted these people to know they really helped us in a really difficult situation.
