If anyone has access to my Facebook page it focuses on my two new admissions. Lexi from School Aycliffe came in last Friday and Little Jack from Moore Lane Park on Sunday. Lexi has turned a corner but the top of her head has been strimmed, we need people to check before they strim please, Jack will be ok hopefully too. They are very small just a little over 400 grams each and they were starving hungry. The ground is very hard, so food and water is scarce, poor Jack has a parasite burden and he is very underweight, but he has started treatment for what ails him.
There are people who I would like to mention this week for their efforts in putting food and water out 365 days of the year, Carol and her husband, she works at Tesco, Jackie and John, Lynda, Steve and Lesley, who I have known for years, but recently I have met Laurie and his partner at School Aycliffe.
I know that there are many others, I can’t thank you enough because the more we support feed, the better the outcome for these poor souls.
It’s also getting close to baby season, hoglets are very small, the size of a 50 pence piece, there are usually six to a litter. They are trained by mum to forage and when they get to 250 grams they all go their separate ways.
Donations are also appreciated, Julia, Jackie and John, Lynda and also Jonney, Franchise Manager of McDonald’s donated funds for a new cage for the rescue. Thanks to everyone who regularly donates, it’s a great help, thank you.
My final thank you is to Angela and her staff of Grange Vets, I have a good selection of antibiotics, painkillers etc here for every eventuality.
Pictured above are Lexi (back) and Jack. Enjoying being cared for and comfortable, full tummies too.
