Dear Sir,

I am writing with concern over candidates for the town elections next week. It has been noted that there are candidates running for town council election who do not live within the wards of the town.

How can those who do not have any personal and emotional investment in the town, work for the good of the people? They will not be able to quickly attend to any issues that may arise.

Aycliffe, as a town, has a very proud group of people who work very hard to get the best they can for those who live around them in their wards, they work tirelessly to help those who need help, I feel that allowing non-residents to represent Aycliffe will not be in the best interest for the town.

Mr Brian Haigh
