Dear Sir,

Last Tuesday, 1st October, I was walking along Defoe Crescent with my husband when I tripped and had a nasty fall.

There were 5 boys across the road walking home from Woodham Academy. They were messing about, having a laugh as kids do, but stopped immediately and ran over to help.

They asked what they could do, even offering to carry our shopping home. They were lovely.

Then a lady in a white Audi, with her daughter I think, stopped to ask if she could take us home, which she did. I’d like to thank her for her kindness through the Newton News, as I don’t know who she is. Likewise I’d like to thank the boys who ran to help so quickly.

I was lucky I was with my husband but if I’d been alone it’s comforting to know there are still lovely, caring adults and children around.

Kids get bad press, as we only hear of the naughty ones, so I just wanted to express my gratitude to all who helped me. These boys are a credit to their parents and the school.

Thank you all so much.

  1. Sinclair
