Newton Aycliffe Rotarians have received two letters of thanks from organisations to which they have recently given financial support.
David Hastings, Secretary to the Durham Branch of the RNLI, who recently spoke to the club about his experiences of being saved at sea, has told members: “The RNLI can only save lives with the help of groups like yours.”
And Sam Vieira, Community Funding Executive for Prostate Cancer UK, has written to say: “By 2030, prostate cancer is predicted to be the most common cancer or all and yet research into this disease is badly underfunded.”
Rotary President Nora Scott said this week: “We try to support as many charities and deserving causes as we can. It’s great to know our efforts are appreciated.”
