I write regarding the new Shop and Save at Tesco. I have lived on this town for over 60 years and I don’t have any family working at Tesco, but I agree these machines will take jobs from people and the response from Tesco Manager does not state the obvious.
Maybe there are no job losses at the moment, but since the new Shop and Save has come in, hours have been cut back to the basic. People who were working many hours a week overtime have been cut back to basic hours of less than 16 hours a week, some even less.
How do you expect people to live on those hours? What makes the situation worse is that temporary staff have been kept on  longer, when their hours could be distributed among the staff that do not have other jobs or rely on this to feed their families.
Where is your loyalty to your staff Tesco? If it was not for the current staff Tesco would not have done so well!
I will not be using the shop and scan system as I like having a friendly member of staff to greet me with my shopping every week.
A unhappy customer
