teenage fundraiser webHannah (centre) with Josh and Ellie-Jade

Hannah Day thought up and organised a tremendous “Night at the Races” at Woodham Community Centre, raising £520 for the Red Nose Day Charity.

Together with friends Ellie-Jade and Josh she organised raffles, races, and on a very cold night, tasty pies and peas from Walkers the Butchers.

Their efforts were rewarded by a great turnout and a very worthy charity contribution of £520 was raised.

“Hannah and her friends together with their families should be very proud of this effort” said David Sutton-Lloyd Treasurer at Woodham Community Centre. “Young people often recieve unjust bad press, so it is great to report on youngsters making a real effort in our community for others. Hannah is already thinking about other ventures so watch out for further information.

There are many community venues in Aycliffe who will welcome the chance to assist with projects, so come on all you young people think of something and give it a try”.
