Dear Sir, When will the media stop passing on the Councils untruths and listen to the TAs? We do NOT get paid 52 weeks a year! The days we work plus statutory holidays plus bank holiday are added together and salaried in to 12 equal payments. Under the new proposal, if I work an extra 4.5 hours a week, I will only lose £2200 a year from my salary. If I stay on my contracted
32.5 hours a week, I will take a pay cut of £4,400 a year. Would any working person accept such a pay decrease? The so called compensation offered is not compensation but keeping our salary the same for 2 years then losing the enormous amount. 30 years experience and qualifications count for nothing where Durham County Council are concerned.
