Bewick Crescent Surgery, like all surgeries nationally, have a telephone triage service in place. This means if you want an appointment we will ask a clinician to give you a call back to assess whether you have to come down to the surgery or not. Only those urgently requiring medical support are being seen. Understandably, this has placed significant demand on our telephone system creating more delays. In order to open more phone lines we have noticed the following trends that can be avoided:

  • If you are wanting advice on COVID-19 please visit the Government Website or go to NHS / NHS 111 online website.
  • The prescriptions line is very busy so please be patient and do not ring our general number to try and bypass the queue.
  • Set up Electronic Prescription Services to save calling our prescription line.

In order to reduce footfall in the surgery please:

  • Only attend the surgery if you have been invited to do so by one of our staff; do not wander into the surgery asking for an appointment.
  • Do not bring us your full sharps bins (yellow disposable bins) please take them to the chemists for disposal.

We would like to thank you for your support and co-operation in playing your part to keep us all safe
