These are very exciting times for Lifeline Community Action (LCA).  We’ve supported over 3000 people in the last year alone and distributed over £1,000,000.00 worth of resources since we launched five years ago.
We are sure you share our hope to see many more people in our local community, particularly those facing financial crisis reached with practical help.  We are so encouraged by the generosity of Newton News readers we have met, that really do want to make a difference.
Helping Hands is one of the amazing projects of LCA.  We are asking Newton News readers who have a wardrobe bulging with baby and children’s clothes to to  ‘spring clean your wardrobe’ and donate your new/nearly new children and baby’s clothing and equipment  to our charity.
Helping Hands supports families and individuals in crisis where they may have lost their jobs, are struggling to pay basic living costs or have other personal circumstances that leave them in need of our support.
We are sure you will be as moved as we were when you read just one of the  messages we received this week: “When I received your help I cried and cried,  they  were tears of relief!  I felt as if I was drowning, then you came along which was literally my lifeline.  I would now like to give something back to support others like me”
With your help we envisage the Helping Hands project will support 3500 people in 2015 and already we are well on our way to meeting that target.
If you would like to donate your new/nearly new clothing/equipment or even good quality bric-a-brac to the Helping Hands project then please ring 07936 431262 or email lifeline.action@googlemail.com for us to arrange collection.
Alternatively, if you are reading this and need our help, please ring the same number.
If you have a business and would like to help us reach one life at a time, we would love to hear from you now as we really  need you!
