Dear Syd,
Having just read Labour leader Bob Fleming’s courageous assessment of the in or out referendum I find my views in alignment with his. I say courageous because no doubt those people who blindly follow political Party policy will no doubt disagree
Scare tactics by some other politicians tell us that house prices are about to be compressed. Well hip hip Hoorah for that. Only the wealthy self-serving have benefitted from soaring house prices in Westminster etc, hopefully that prediction will lead to our young people being able to afford housing.
Too often in the past we have seen multinational companies head to eastern Europe to make fat profits from the paying of low wages at the expense of our British workers jobs, perhaps if we leave the European Union we can open factories here to make all the goods that we need without European dictates and choking red tape. As a side effect of course we can also claim to be green as we won’t be transporting goods across Europe.
Currently virtually everything comes to the UK in a brown cardboard box marked MADE IN CHINA. The Chinese economy is surging ahead due to the production of virtually everything the rest of the world needs. It doesn’t take a bright person to point out this situation has led to much of the western world being in debt to this still communist state who are busily building up their armed forces to intimidate their neighbours.
Just as it is the wish of our government to be self-sufficient in energy sources I would like our farming industry to make us self-sufficient in food production.
Defence, this current government has systematically reduced our armed forces over a period of years, the previous government were ridiculed for not supplying our armed forces properly fortunately NATO is well equipped but led by people who were unable to stand up to Vladimir Putin’s annexation of parts of the Ukraine.
I believe that shortly after a Brexit by the UK we will be followed by Greece, Italy and other countries who are not doing so well in the European project area. If we are to put the GREAT into Great Britain again we need to take a chance.
Bravo Bob
