On Wednesday 31st July the children at Woodham Burn out of School Club visited Mini Moos farm in Durham. What a fantastic day, fun, fun, fun and packed full of activities for all ages. We had a great time in the enclosed play area climbing up and over, then sliding down the huge slides. We the went onto the ice rink what a laugh, even the staff attempted to ice skate not very well though!. Then off to the outdoor zip wire, upstairs to the large sandpit, bungee walk and go karts.
We sat in the sun for lunch, went on a woodland walk, jumped on the giant pillows, visited all the animals and went to see the animal show before heading home with J&C Coaches after a fun filled day.
The children and staff visited Newton Aycliffe Fire Station, to be greeted by the friendly fire and rescue staff of Blue Squad. We were given a tour of the building before looking at the new fire engine. The fire fighter explained what the appliances on the fire engine are used for and how they help keep themselves and the people they rescue safe.
We sat on the fire engine and had the opportunity to try on the helmets, oxygen masks and jackets. We ended the session by each have a turn with the hose and listening to the alarm that sounds to let the fire fighters know when they are needed in an emergency.
Thank you very much for a fun and educational visit.
We hope you like the cards and posters we made for you, from the children and staff at Woodham Burn Out of School Club.
