Following an assembly about the bushfires in Australia and the devastating effect it was having on the wildlife, children at Sugar Hill decided to raise funds by having a non-school uniform day on Friday 17th January 2020. Children came dressed in animal themed or print clothes.

In total, they managed to raise an amazing £516! This will be sent to World Wildlife Fund to assist them in their efforts to care for injured and displaced animals. We are so proud of all of our children for helping this worthy cause.

A special mention to Maisie Cochrane in Year 4 who had spent her weekend raising money by washing cars in order to donate as much as she could. She added £27.10 to our total!

Miss Timney, a student teacher in Year 1, told her 13 year old cousin, who lives in Australia, what the school was doing to help. She sent us a lovely video message of thanks on behalf of the people and animals of Australia, which we will be uploading to our school website should you wish to view it.
