Sue Bennett joined Slimming World in September last year and has since lost 3 stones 4lb. She is now the new Consultant  with classes at Woodham Community Centre starting 4th September at 5pm and 7pm. She started to put weight on herself over a 12 year period going from a size 8 to 18. This gave her back problems, heartburn and high cholesterol for which she took medication. Sue had no energy for exercise and was limited in how far she could walk – even feeling uncomfortable sitting. Sue couldn’t wear clothes she liked and had to wear loose, baggy clothing to hide her stomach. This brought on low esteem, not just in her body image.

The turning point was meeting up with a friend Successful Slimmer Now New Consultant who had been to Slimming World, taking a holiday in the Seychelles and completing a parachute jump. Sue was impressed by Slimming World and lost 7lbs in her first week! She is never hungry and Food Optimising gives her  the ability to think about what she eats and fill up on free/speed food. She enjoys fruit and eats lots of Slimming World soups, trying their recipes and searching for new things to cook which her husband enjoys too. Sue plans her meals and shops accordingly remembering not to buy the wrong choices. “My sins are milky coffee, hi-fi bars and the occasional Gin & Tonic” said Sue.

“Before joining the group I was depressed about my size and felt much older than my 60 years. Now my life and outlook has changed – I feel happy and inspired.” “My husband has supported me and constantly gives compliments. I have more energy to walk and cycle. My friend and I walked the “Race for Life” and plan to take The Great North Run next year”
