Young People Join Community Groups

Newtonians James Pirie from Baliol Green and Clare Brennan, who lives at Haslewood Road, have both volunteered to represent young people on groups from the town discussing and contributing to the Neighbourhood Plan.
The students both attend St John’s School & Sixth Form College (A Catholic Academy) and were very keen to be involved in the planning of their town.
They will be at the big open event at the Youth and Community Centre on the 21st February from 10am – 12 noon when the tasks of the various groups will be outlined by Angela Corner the Neighbourhood Plan officer.
Woodham Academy and Greefield College students will also be volunteering to put young people’s views on the future of Newton Aycliffe.
“It is gratifying  to see our young people coming forward to take part in the planning of their town. We hope people from the community will show their support and come forward to give their time to this important process” said Angela Corner.
