Year 11 students at Woodham Academy participated in GCSE Physical Education climbing sessions in Durham designed to improve the practical scores within this subject area, and all students who participated performed exceptionally well.
All students covered the health and safety requirements for climbing, knot tying, initial preparation, climbing calls and climbing techniques. More advanced climbers had the opportunity to explore more complex routes, including overhangs and features.
The students were a real credit to Woodham Academy. Their attitude and effort were commendable. All students have gained a high enough grade within climbing to have it count as one of their final four scores in this element of the subject. We wish them all well in their upcoming written exam.
