Year 8 students at Greenfield Community College participated in an interesting and informative day, as students from the Aycliffe and Sunnydale campuses came together to experience a number of workshops led by “Prison Me No Way”.
Students were engaged and intrigued to learn about prison life and how the wrong choices they may make in the future can take away their right to freedom.
The facilitators held the interest of the students throughout the day and chose several students at the end who had made a valuable contribution and awarded them prizes.
We are thankful to GAMP who provided the funding to make the event happen. It is vital for students to start thinking about their futures and to be aware that they are in control of the choices they make in life. This helps them to become responsible young people who are prepared for the Society in which they are growing up.
Well done to Year 8 who approached the whole day maturely and left with lots to think about.
