Taking hampers into the local community has become a tradition at Woodham Academy and one that all students look forward to. This year has been no different and the kindness and contributions from students and their families has been amazing. Each tutor group in the school created a huge hamper filled with Christmas gifts of food for some of the elderly residents within our community.

Two members of staff and a group of students hand delivered the hampers this week. The response from recipients was fantastic and showed how much they appreciated students’ warm generosity.

Assistant Head Teacher, Jon Tait, said “This is what Christmas is all about. Our students really want to help people who are not as fortunate as themselves, and this is a wonderful way of doing that. It is important as a school in the community, we reach out to support families around us at Christmas.”
