Twenty students from Greenfield Community College took to the streets of Durham on Sunday 27th May 2018 to celebrate equality and diversity. They marched from the Cathedral to the Sands as part of this important event.

The students then joined in the celebrations and live music for the rest of the afternoon.

It was a very special day for all with a well- attended parade and a chance for people to come together and celebrate individuality. This is the fifth Durham Pride event which is now an established day in Durham’s calendar, with over 10,000 people attending last year’s event.

Students were complimented on their banner which was created by last years Greenfield LGBT+ group. Assistant Headteacher Ms Davis was full of praise for the young people:

“I was extremely proud of the way the students supported each other during the day and their approach to the celebration”. We were really pleased to be part of this wider celebration of diversity.
