Anna Swabey (see Annas Army story) has been awarded the Chairman of Durham County Council’s Medal, the highest civic honour that the Council can bestow and is awarded “to encourage ambition and success. It is presented to young persons, individuals, groups and organisations throughout the County of Durham to recognise significant achievement and outstanding effort in all walks of life”.
Anna was given the news this week and is delighted. The latest bulletin from Anna regarding her team in the Paris Marathon is that ‘Anna’s Army’ has now raised over £15,000 – with the prospect of more to come.
