Woodham Sports Academy is delighted to announce that the annual Presentation Evening will take place on Monday 1st July, at the XCEL Centre in Newton Aycliffe. This exciting evening will see us celebrate the exceptional sporting success of Woodham Academy students. The event will start at 7.00pm and will finish at approximately 9.00pm. This year there will be 10 awards presented to the students. The awards this year are:

• Woodham Sports Academy year 7 individual achievement of the year

• Woodham Sports Academy year 8 individual achievement of the year

• Woodham Sports Academy year 9 individual achievement of the year

• Woodham Sports Academy year 10 individual achievement of the year

• Woodham Sports Academy year 11 individual achievement of the year

• Woodham Sports Academy KS3 contribution to sport

• Woodham Sports Academy KS4 Sports Personality

• Woodham Sports Academy Sports Leader

• Woodham Sports Academy Team of the Year

• The Mark Bulman Award

This year, the key note speaker is TV personality, Keith Downie. Keith is a football reporter for Sky Sports and frequently makes appearances to discuss matches, teams and performance. Keith has always been passionate about sport and journalism and decided from an early age this was the career for him. Since studying at Edinburgh Napier University and achieving his degree in broadcast journalism, Keith has progressed in his career. He has reported on live matches from the European Champions League and has been working with the worldwide leader in sports, ESPN.

Woodham Sports Academy is part of Woodham Academy’s rich and varied extra-curricular programme which includes Woodham Performing Arts Academy and Woodham Leadership Academy. All members sign a contract undertaking to attend every coaching session and to maintain their academic progress.

Last year, 86% of Y11 members gained GCSE passes in both English and maths. Woodham Sports Academy coaching is free to students.
