trafficking webLocal school nurse Julie Sutherland is raising money to support the charity Hope For Justice. Julie and her husband Tim attend XCEL Church in Newton Aycliffe and for the past year they have been fundraising for this charity, aiming to stop Human Trafficking in the UK.

Last year Hope For Justice rescued over 78 victims from Human Trafficking in the UK. Zoe was the first victim rescued, she was trafficked from Latvia to Southampton. Actor Tom Lister (Carl King Emmerdale) and Ben Cooley (CEO for Hope For Justice) are cycling Zoe’s journey, from Latvia to Southampton in 20 days!

Julie wanted to be part of the English leg of the journey from Hull to Southampton however due to medical reasons she is unable to cycle this distance. She didn’t want to miss out on an opportunity to get behind the Zoe Challenge so she is swimming the distance across the English Channel from Dover to Calais which is 30 miles in her local swimming pool.
