Shildon based Durham District Roller Skating Club have just finished competing in two very different competitions during the last fortnight.

It all began on the weekend of 20/21st July at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, for the Spectrum Festival of Roller Skating.

Durham district had a very successful weekend at this event and saw their youngest members take to the floor for the first time in solo and team events. All girls who skated did themselves and the club proud at this event and came away with 11 trophies.

Durham then went on to compete at the National Novice Figure & Free Competition in Kettering Sports Arena.

The club took five skaters, for some this was their first time competing at this level and all five did a fantastic job, both in their Figures and Free.

Durham came away with one 1st place in Figures and two 3rd places in the Free events. Fantastic performances by all over both weekends, keep up the hard work girls.
