Spectrum skater, Jazzmyn Loring, has been selected for GB skate artistic squad training in Great Yarmouth this weekend Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th May 2022. It’s a fantastic achievement for twelve year old Jazzmyn and Team Spectrum who train at Sunnydale Leisure Centre in Shildon.
Jazzmyn has shown commitment and dedication to her sport – even covid didn’t stop her training with online zoom off-skates lessons and the use of outdoor tennis courts. Recently Jazzmyn competed in The National GB skate artistic event and, with a phenomenal personal best, achieved a silver medal in Espoir ladies free skating and a selection for GB squad training.
This won’t be her first GB squad training day as she has taken part previously and has also taken part in international selections. Training with former mens world champion Lee Taylor and current ladies British champion Emily Woods has enhanced her technique combined with her natural flair for the sport she truly has all the ingredients to become a top athlete. She competes in three disciplines of artistic roller skating and has previously skated internationally in roller dance at Issy, Paris. She is currently preparing for The British Championships in all three disciplines in July and her long term goal is to take part in Worlds.
Jazzmyn came along to lessons aged four and took part in her first competition when she was only five year old. She achieved bronze in Tots British Championships in 2018 and continually amazes us with her progress. She has worked hard with passion and enthusiasm, training up to twelve hours per week. “As a team we are so proud of Jazzmyn and all that she has achieved so far. We hope she continues to progress and inspire others to develop their passion for roller skating too,” Coach Tracy Stevens.
