Community Supporters & Volunteers Wanted

Christmas day can be one of the loneliest times of the year for people and this has prompted Aycliffe’s  “Helping Hands” team to share their day with new people. Alwyn White, Manager says, “just because you’re lonely or you can’t afford Christmas doesn’t mean you have to go without,”
“Our volunteers will cheerfully prepare and serve Christmas Lunch for you and it’s going to be one big amazing event. Christmas day is where loneliness is felt the most and that’s why this event is taking place so our guests have special memories of the day.”
There will be lots of fun and laughter and one or two surprises. Every guest attending recieves a Christmas gift from Santa Claus.
With entertainment, Christmas Carols, a kid’s corner and of course, great food and wonderful company – it’s all on the menu and totally free!
Bethany Centre has generously given use of their facilities without charge for this special event.
Whoever you are, we welcome you. to Bethany Centre, Village Close, Woodham Way on Xmas Day from 12 noon-4pm
If you’d like to secure your place for our dinner please contact us on 07936 431262.
Volunteer roles are now open to make this happen – we need the help of kind people in our community.
We have received kind pledges of financial support but we are still far from our target and we need help to make this happen. Every penny is spent on the day so we are looking for individuals and companies who are able to provide Food, Cooks Decorations, Transport and Money.
Volunteers will be asked to do a wide range of tasks, such as: greeting guests at the door preparing the tasty Xmas meal! Chatting to people. Washing up. Acting as Waiters.
No experience is necessary for the general volunteer role, just a willingness and ability to ‘muck in’ and assist where necessary. The minimum age is 16, but 16 and 17 year-olds must be accompanied by an adult. There is no upper age limit. For all enquiries  contact: lifeline.action@googlemail.com / Telephone or text 07936 431262
