Spectrum Skaters performed ‘Skate Idol’ demonstration at Sunnydale Leisure Centre, Shildon on 10th March and raised £61.81.

The skaters chose to put together ‘skate idol’ performance and created their own skating routines to their favourite music idols with music ranging from Dolly Parton to My Chemical Romance, which gave the skaters the opportunity to develop creativity.

“The team created solo, duo, trio and group choreography,” explained coach Tracy Stevens. “I am very proud of all the skaters who took part. Demonstrations where the skaters perform to an audience helps to boost the skaters confidence. We were lucky to have skaters aged from 4 years to adults taking part and they all skated very well.”

A big thank you to the friends and family who supported the event. We raised £61.81 from door entry, a cake sale and a tombola.

Spectrum Roller Skating Club always welcome new skaters, whatever the age or ability. We have beginner lessons on Saturday 2.30-3.30pm and a roller disco Fridays 7.30-8.30pm both at Sunnydale Leisure Centre, Shildon.
