It’s almost that time when Santa and his Elves are planning their winter run. The Silent Santa Appeal is back, when so many kind and thoughtful people from across Co Durham and Darlington deliver shoe boxes to the appeal so that they can be given to children who might not receive a Christmas Present. Each box is filled with presents, wrapped and labelled with the gender and age that the gifts are aimed for. Our wonderful Fire Officers in Darlington are helping out by letting the appeal use a room to store the shoe boxes. You can drop boxes at the station or contact Councillor Lee on 07876 216182 or email gglee1910@gmail.com to arrange collection/drop off in Heighington.

Chris and Clare Williams are so proud of their U9 girls football team “NAYFC Angels” who have all made their boxes for the appeal. They chose to make boxes for girls their own age, as they felt they’d know what other 8yr olds would like for Christmas. They all took great pride in putting together their boxes and giving at this time of year. Definitely Christmas Angels!
