Thank you for including information about the 2019 Silent Santa Christmas Appeal sent in by Chris and Claire Williams. The response has been incredible. Lots of people have called to drop off their kind gifts and the numbers are increasing daily but ideally more would be appreciated.
A ‘SPECIAL’ thank you must go to Newton Aycliffe based Whitehouse Funeral Service who have so generously given numerous Christmas bags full of presents for the children. Whitehouse Funeral Service run a wonderful ‘craft workshop’ where bereaved ladies meet and spend time together chatting and making wonderful useful knitted garments so not only do they provide presents that will be appreciated by the little ones, Whitehouse is also a warm place where ladies can meet and talk helping them through the dark days following the loss of their loved ones – a remarkable and thoughtful service.
But will those who intend to provide a shoe box please deliver them to my home or call me and I will pick it up. Please do not take them down to Darlington Fire Station.
