Local artiste Samantha Mcgarrigle has put in a lot of hard work over the last couple of years to pay tribute to her idol, the country singer, Shania Twain.
Samantha has perfected the look, concentrating on the clothing, hair, dance moves and especially the iconic sound.
Newton Aycliffe’s very own Shania appeared at the Aycliffe Radio Music Festival on Sunday 9th June on a beautiful sunny day to a huge appreciative audience. Aycliffe Radio not only had a couple of photographers record the day, but also videoed all the bands.
With the use of phones on mobile phones, the audience also had the opportunity to photo and video their favourite acts.
Samantha posted the video on social media and tagged in the original Shania, shortly afterwards she received a notification from the original Shania Twain who commented “your outfit is perfect”.
With all the hard work that Samantha has put in to perfect this act, she is over the moon with the comment and would like to give a big thank you to her talented dressmaker, Shirley Leighton, for her attention to detail.
