Heighington Baden Powell Scouts, on Wednesday 30th January 2013 held their Gang Show to showcase their acting and singing skills.
It encompassed the full troop, consisting of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Senior Scouts and Leaders all for the benefit of children’s family and friends. As the evening was drawing to a close they had a presentation to make to one of their own scouts Kieran Maxwell.
Kieran who lost his leg to Ewing’s Sarcoma, a cancer of the bone and soft tissue, at the age of 12 years and has been fundraising since June 2011. Area Scout Master Alan Wilson presented Kieran, 14 years, with a cheque for £3,300 for the fundraising they had done.
Fundraising included table top sales, coffee mornings, band nights and various other events.
If you wish to follow Kieran’s journey, even though Kieran has a leg at present, we still need to fundraise for his future legs and for maintenance, if you can help please either follow Kieran’s website www.kieranmaxwell.com or http://www.facebook.com/KieranMaxwellFund
