In the first event in the Stockton Winter Trail series of 5k races at Wynyard Woodland Park, Aycliffe veterans had a field day with five age category wins. First home for the club was Dez Fielden, 3rd in 19:10 and 1st M/40 followed by Peter Milburn, 10th in 20:45 and 1st M/55 and Richard Campbell, 11th in 20:48. Paul Stretton was next to cross the line, 22nd in 22:42, followed by Steve Smith, 27th in 22:57 and John Burnside, 31st in 23:19. Alan Wilks was 1st M/65 in 24:07 and 40th overall, followed by Cyd Upton, 45th in 24:26 and 1st F/50. Peter Smith, still recovering from a serious foot injury was next finisher, 63rd in 25:44, followed by Susan Milburn, 67th in 25:58 and 1st F/55 and Dave Mackenzie, 160th in 32:41.
Sandra Collins was the only runner from the club to tackle the Jedburgh Half Marathon, which was part of the Jedburgh Running Festival. In a field of 357, runners Sandra finished 188th in the excellent time of 1:52:45.
In the Sedgefield Parkrun, the following achieved new PBs:- Thomas Scott 21:33, Beverley Phillippo, 28:21 and Denise Evans, 28:56. Fiona Walton ran it for the first time in 33:02.
