Last Sunday several members of the club took their chance against the midges to take part in the Butterwick Hospice Hamsterley Forest 10K.
This undulating but picturesque course takes the runners along tracks and minor roads through Hamsterley Forest.
First home for the club was Mark Wade, 4th in 40:13, followed by Steve Smith, 27th in 48:54 and Dave Blewitt, 28th in 48:54.
Trish Kay led the ladies home, 62rd in 54:47, followed by Clare Rose, 73rd in 57:42, Angela Barrett, 74th in 57:52 and Susan Clark, 138th in 71:16.
There was a good turnout from the club for the recent for the Redcar Summer Coast 5K.
John Surtees was first home for the club in the brilliant time of 17:21 and 19th overall, followed by Michael Beadle, 66th in 19:37 and Dave Blewitt, 77th in 20:14. Steve Smith’s efforts were rewarded with a PB of 20:23, finishing 80th. Sandra Collins was first female home for the club 113th in 22:06, followed by Michelle Zamir, 127th in 22:59 and Rob Nicholson, 142nd in 23:57. Trish Kay was next to finish, 145th in 24:14, followed by Dianne Savage, 176th in 28:44. Julie Spring and Penny Johnson shared the same time of 29:25 which was a PB for Julie, 178th/180th. Finally, Yvonne Williams ran well to finish 187th in 30:22.
The club had a successful morning at the Sedgefield Parkrun and the following all achieved course PBs: John Surtees 18:20, Michael Beadle 20:01, Michelle Jane 22:49, Michelle Zamir 22:59, Diane Nicholson 30:14, and Denise Evans 30:22.
