Residents of Rose Lodge Care Home were thrilled when a card and letter from Buckingham Palace arrived after they sent the Queen a homemade birthday card and letter to commemorate her  official 90th birthday.   Residents crafted a handmade birthday card and wrote messages of best wishes before sending it back in March as part of the home’s celebrations of the Queen’s 90th birthday which included a Royal Street Party. The accompanying letter, sent by The Queen’s Lady in Waiting, Reads: “Her Majesty is most grateful for your good wishes, and greatly appreciated the care taken to create such a lovely card especially for the Queen.” Care Manager Nicola Wheatley said: “We were so pleased to receive such a lovely thank you letter. The royal family are very important to many of our residents here and we enjoy sending our best wishes for special occasions. We’ve had several replies from Buckingham Palace and have created a display in our reception so that they can show the letters and cards we’ve received to their families and guests. We’re very proud to have friends in such high places!“ Rose Lodge, owned by care provider Countrywide Care Homes, offers residential and specialist dementia care to the elderly.
