Rotary Newton Aycliffe are arranging their second model railway event for 2022. A one day exhibition on 18th June 2022 to be held in the Village Hall at Bishop Middleham DL17 9AJ. This event is being organised jointly with the club’s long-time partner organisation, Shildon Model Railway Club, and will feature some 10 working layouts and 4 trade stands. Of particular interest will be a Trix Twin layout dating from the 1950’s which has never been exhibited previously and a new layout from the Raven Group which is to feature in the national model railway press in the next few months.
The event will raise funds for the village church of St. Michael’s Bishop Middleham and the Parkinson’s Disease Society and is being generously sponsored by the Bishop Middleham and Mainsforth Parish Council and the Brightwater Landscape Partnership involving funding by Durham Wildlife Trust and the National Lottery.
Admission will be £4 for adults, 50p for children with wheelchair users free. As with the club’s main exhibition, which was held on
26th March 2022 in Newton Aycliffe, full disabled access will be available, a tombola and of course the famous bacon butties (with vegetarian options)!
