Come along to the Family Fun Day in Aycliffe Town Centre and look for the Rotary stall. Have a friendly chat with local Rotarians and we will tell you all about our work in the area. We will be easy to find, as in attendance will be Sparky and Casey, our very own defibrillator mascots. Rotary, both locally and nationally, are aiming to increase the number of public access defibrillators across our communities and if you would like to help with this initiative in Newton Aycliffe, please visit our stand. We will be running a marvellous tombola and taking donations, however small, via our new digital card reader.

A representative from Shelterbox will be with us to explain how this wonderful charity assists people in developing countries to recover when floods and other natural disasters devastate their homes. Get to see inside the big green Shelterbox which provides all the essential tools that people need to start rebuilding their lives.

Also, learn about water charity, Grifaid, which aims to provide safe drinking water for families and communities across the world. This is achieved by the deployment of filters to where they are needed in the field and, would you believe it, the filters were created by a local Rotarian and are currently designed, developed and manufactured in the North East, Washington to be exact.

So you see, we in Rotary have a lot to celebrate, come and help us do just that!!
