Rose Lodge Care Home, Carers Way, raised £60 in aid of charity Help for Heroes following their recent charity coffee morning. The money was raised from donations made through a bake sale and raffle at the home, with residents, families and guests enjoying afternoon teastyle refreshments and cake selection. Activities Coordinators Diane Tweddle and Tracy George were pleased with the success of the morning, “We all had a wonderful time at our Bake for Heroes coffee morning and were proud to ‘do our bit’ in supporting such a worthy cause.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for your support.” Help for Heroes supports Serving and Reservist Personnel and Veterans who have suffered injuries or illness as a result of their service to the Nation. The Charity also helps their close family and dependents. The charity’s official ‘Bake for Heroes’ fundraising event runs from 15–30 April but those interested in holding a similar event are welcome to do so all year round. A free fundraising guide is available via the Help for Heroes website.
