Music lovers can enjoy an evening of 60s classics this weekend courtesy of a band of veteran performers. Past Masters will perform their sell-out show Let’s Rock the Jukebox at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Saturday (29 October). The group is made up of musicians who all served their apprenticeships back in the 1960s, working clubs, cabaret nights and the theatre as well as appearing on TV. Between them they have worked with the likes of David Bowie, Gene Pitney, Del Shannon, The Everly Brothers, Joe Brown, The Shadows, Acker Bilk, Karl Denver and Little Richard. Two of the band are former members of Dave Berry’s Cruisers. With a repertoire that spans rock ‘n’ roll, country, rhythm and blues and ballads, Past Masters regularly play to sellout crowds in their native Yorkshire.Audiences are treated to classics by artists including Elvis Presley, Matt Monroe, The Shadows and The Eagles. And now, after teaming up with Stanley Fuller, former bassist with Magic, the group have added a new selection of songs to their collection, with material from The Four Seasons, The Bee Gees and The Beach Boys.
