Wellbeing for Life are hosting a free event aimed at men who love anything machine or robot related.

‘Mean Machines’ is taking place on Sunday 11th February from 11am-3pm at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre.

Activities include building and coding robots and then partaking in a robot wars type challenge. Attendees will also learn how to play music on a computer via fruit and even build their own heart monitor!

The aim of the event is to encourage more men to access the Wellbeing for Life service to improve their health, happiness and overall quality of life.

Wellbeing for Life is not just about improving diet and fitness, social activities are also vital in improving people’s health and wellbeing.

Marnie Ramsey, Wellbeing for Life Co-ordinator said “This event is aimed at men because we just do not get to meet enough of you! Women and children are more than welcome too, but we ask you to try and bring a man with you, it could save their life!

We will be promoting the health and wellbeing of men by offering advice to live well by addressing the risk factors which influence their health. We can show you how to make small changes to improve how you feel, develop a healthier lifestyle and live a longer, happier life. Or you can just come along and play with the robots!”

Wellbeing for Life Health Trainers support people on a 1-1 basis to achieve goals that you set together. You can also join free group activities in your local community and if there is enough interest at the ‘Mean Machines’ event there will be a free 6 week programme to follow.
