Dear Sir,
Through the medium of the Newton News, can I ask DCC Highways Dept to justify why, after only a few months, they are ‘modifying the modifications’ to the road layout at the intersection between School Aycliffe Lane and Horndale Avenue?
It was obvious from the beginning that the initial alterations should encompass widening the existing road and yet nobody in authority thought that far ahead.
Earlier this year the roadworks at the same junction caused traffic chaos and inconvenience to drivers, now, due to further alterations, the situation is being repeated.
It was blatantly evident from the start that a problem had been created where a problem never previously existed, what happened to forward planning and who is responsible for this debacle?
To plagiarize the Peter Principle ‘In a local authority every employee tends to rise to their own level of incompetence’.
DCC Finance Department should be held to account and explain why they are wasting taxpayers money.
