Dear Editor,

The police are not going to catch many speeders by letting all the offenders see them, as there are other drivers who flash their lights or give warning to let them know the cops are there. Police should be covert, not visible!

We live on Pease Way, which is a race track from the roundabout at the top to the other roundabout that joins Emerson Way and the nip points are a waste of time. There have been serious incidents including a car ending up in a garden. Some years ago I witnessed a car hitting the bus shelter near Cumby Road.

We need speed bumps across the whole road every 100 metres as the best deterrent. Traffic will still be able to pass without congestion as it is now, and they will slow down but not stop, this is the correct way to calm traffic.

Do we have to wait for a death to have it done? The traffic is getting worse, so is speeding, due to budget cuts. Humps would sort it and as one of the poor pensioners and infirm who are too afraid to cross the road, please get it done!
