Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre is thrilled to kick off the planned revamp of the Centre by receiving 8 computers and speakers. Cllrs Joan Gray and Paul Gittins have also agreed to fund a new smart screen projector from their Members’ Initiative Fund.

Vince Crosby Chairman of the Youth Centre Management Committee said ” I am so happy to see the computer room up and running. The project has been planned for some time but with the receipt of this equipment we can move on to the next stage of our five year plan for the development of the Centre.

We are so excited and can’t thank Joan and Paul enough; there will be so many people in Newton Aycliffe who will benefit from their wonderful gesture” Both Joan and Paul said they welcomed the opportunity of helping the Centre to provide a benefit not only for the youth but all members of the community.

Joan Clark, Secretary of the Youth Club Management said “The benefits to the Centre are immense and timely as the chairman and myself have recently held meetings with Bishop Auckland College to bring more adult learning to the Centre.

The range of courses is endless and not confined to computers. Anyone who has a course they are interested in should just pop into the Centre and have a look at the list. If the course isn’t on the list, tell us about it and we will see what we can do”.
