Dear Sir,
I was interested in the comments regarding the traffic issues at Cobbler’s Hall shopping area. These articles prompted me to think about many other issues regarding thought for others.
The traffic flow into and out of the Cobbler’s Hall complex is difficult as there is no one way system. Actually getting into the car often proves difficult through thoughtless people parking in totally inappropriate places and as such, blocking half the road for traffic.
I wonder why the council does not impose double yellow lines on the approach road and especially on the narrow road leading directly into the shopping complex. As I walked around the Cobbler’s Hall/Bluebell area I was astounded at the number of commercial vehicles parked outside houses partially blocking pavements. Surely private housing estates are no place to be parking large commercial vehicles particularly over a weekend.
I wonder if the drivers ever wonder how their neighbours feel about their road being blocked or their views being compromised.
I was also in wonderment at the number of wheelie bins left out on pathways on the evening of the day the bins were emptied. As cars and vans were parked at these houses I can only assume they rather like to see wheelie bins cluttering up the pavements and pathways rather than wheel them back to their rightful place.
It doesn’t take too long before nice estates and areas become untidy and unkempt and all this through people being lazy and unthinking – how much effort or time does it take to return a wheelie bin to one’s own property?
Come on residents of Newton Aycliffe, start to have some pride in your surroundings and let your neighbours enjoy their environs without your clutter.
