In order to raise awareness of Remembrance Day, School Councillors at Horndale County Infant & Nursery School have been selling Poppies, slap bands and other merchandise on behalf of the British Legion. They have been helping to raise funds for this worthwhile charity. This year the Poppy Appeal is aiming to raise over £50 million to help support serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces community and their families. Some of our School Councillors have parents who are serving soldiers in the British Army and they have shown great pride in selling poppies this week. The school remembered the fallen soldiers by holding a two minute silence during assembly as well as displaying our outdoor memorial in the school playground.
