As a regular reader of my daughter’s Newton News, I would like to heartily agree with Derek Atkinson on the subject of recognising Honest John and his stalwart fundraising efforts for town organisations.
People must believe in him or they would not donate and the fact that he manages to raise so much from these donations is remarkable! Now raising money for the Roller Skating Club is his next project, swiftly moving on to 5 Care Homes and The Cubby.
Come on Councillors, sometimes rules are meant to be broken, or at the very least bent a little bit! Life’s too short, give the man the award he deserves! Everyone makes mistakes in their life at some point, that’s how we learn and ‘move on’, John has, can’t you?
