Friday 6th December saw the Phoenix Motor Cycle Club, in partnership with KwifFit Newton Aycliffe, host a Charity Night to raise funds for Children with Cancer UK.

The Phoenix Motor Cycle Club is a motorcycle club based at The Phoenix Club, Newton Aycliffe. All the members are passionate about charity work and organising events.

A member of the club was approached by a KwikFit (Newton Aycliffe) employee, to see if the club could host something in aid of Children with Cancer UK as the charity had been let down by a previously organised event.

Within a week, Phoenix Motor Cycle Club were able to gather an abundance of raffle prizes and succeeded in getting the word out to the other motor cycle clubs in the area. This proved fruitful as the night enjoyed a brilliant turnout and raised £252.

Unfortunately I did not get the names of the organisers from KwikFit or the charity however I can give a few names of those in the motorcycle club who aided in organising the event.

Thank you to KwikFit (Newton Aycliffe), Phoenix MCC Chairman, Nigel Brookes (aka Brookie); the Vice Chairman, Danny Norton (Ninja), the Secretary, Chloe Smith (Chlo) and Albie Wingfield (Hog).

During the night there was entertainment such as karaoke and music as well as the raffle. Drinks were also available at the bar.
