On Tuesday 26th June we welcomed Shincliffe, Langley Moor and Kelloe Primary Schools to Greenfield Community College to take part in our very own British Council Connecting Classrooms Quadkids Festival.
As part of the on-going programme linked with Sri Lanka this was the latest project undertaken by all involved in the Durham cluster. The Quadkids Sports Festival involves all the key disciplines for athletics; a sprint, a long distance run, a throw and a jump.
This, of course, proving very apt for fuelling the pupil’s enthusiasm towards athletics in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympics in July. The project was designed to allow all the cluster primary schools to compete against each other in a sports festival event. Videos, photos, data and write ups from the day will be sent to our colleagues in Sri Lanka to share the success of our Festival.
This will soon be replicated by our counterparts in Sri Lanka. All who took part from the different primary schools were a credit to their teachers and school giving maximum effort throughout.
A special mention must go to the year 9 Greenfield sports leaders who were superb in ensuring that everything went exactly to plan and that pupils could fully enjoy each activity undertaken.
Congratulations go to Shincliffe Primary School who came away victors by a comfortable margin. Well done to everyone who took part!
