The pre-school has operated in Heighington Village Hall for over 20 years and children attend from the age of 3 years. They employ four staff at present and are registered with Ofsted to provide places for 40 children. The opening times are 9am – 12 noon Monday – Friday term time only. The school currently has only 14 children.

“We are a registered charity and consequently run by a committee of parents who have children at the pre-school. We receive the early education grant for those children who qualify, but all other income is dependent upon fundraising by the committee. The new committee was elected this month and are looking at ways to fundraise if anyone can help.”  said Ruth Ashlee.

The group are organising a Dressing Up Day for the children for Halloween and will be providing refreshments (hot dogs, burgers, tea, coffee, hot choc, sweets etc) at the Village Bonfire on Monday 5th November.

New committee consists of:

Chairperson – Julia Chisman

Secretary – Lyndsey Ellwood

Treasurer – Laura McGrath

Further fundraising includes a Christmas Family Disco on Friday 14th December, 5.30 -7.30pm; a Bingo Night; A Table Top Sale and a Coffee Morning.

The committee are also looking for sponsorship from any local company.

Places are available at the pre-school for children aged 3+, please telephone 07845 980151 term time only or for more information contact Ruth Ashlee on 07935 726616.
