Your Opportunity to Influence How Great Aycliffe is Policed

It is vitally important that residents, interested in how our town is policed, attend the Public Meeting on the subject on Thursday 20th September at St. Mary’s Church at 7pm.

Do you want a Police Station in the Town Centre? What service do you expect from your local Police Station. Are you happy with the response time you receive when making a complaint? Do you want a Police Station on the Business Park? Are you interested in what happens to the old Police Station now left empty?

All these questions and many others will hopefully receive answers from the Police Authority Chairman Peter Thompson who will be attending the meeting.

This is your opportunity to make your views known and to be part of the consultation now taking place over the future of policing in Newton Aycliffe.

You have the chance to change the thinking of those who make decisions, just like the residents did over the collection of wheelie bins. The residents spoke, gave an excellent argument against new proposals and the scheme was stopped in its tracks!

There are many residents who mistakenly believe they are powerless against the authorities and must accept what they say without question. This is not the case and those in authority do not get it right every time and further more they are obliged to seek the views of the people.

You have the right to be heard and what you say really matters. We have the power and it is by attending this meeting we show our strength!
