The Town Council are inviting the local community to submit ideas to improve their local community.

As part of the new housing developments at Travellers Green and along Middridge Road, Section 106 funding is available from Durham County Council to improve the local environment to benefit the community.

The Town Council is seeking to access these funds to undertake local improvements and ideas are therefore being sought to improve the environment, infrastructure or public facilities within the locality of the developments which will benefit the new residents and those directly impacted in neighbouring estates. Suggested projects should be within the development ward or located closely nearby.

At this stage, as long as a proposed project is on public land, the project will be considered regardless of ownership.

Ideas can be sent to info@great-aycliffe.gov.uk – in writing to Great Aycliffe Town Council, Council Offices, School Aycliffe Lane, Newton Aycliffe DL5 6QF or be verbally discussed with officers on 01325 300700 and will be incorporated into a report to Town Councillors in the coming weeks.
